Finnish-Estonian-Finnish translation services

We offer translations from Finnish to Estonian and from Estonian to Finnish.

We will also edit a translation after completion, on request. This may be necessary where the translation is aimed at a wider readership - as in the case of manuals or press releases, for example. We will edit the translation so that it reads as smoothly as possible without changing the content.

Estonian

Estonian, a Finno-Ugric language closely related to Finnish, is the official language of Estonia where it is spoken by some 1.1 million people or roughly two-thirds of the population. The standard language is based on kesk, one of the northern dialects. Unusual features include the vowel õ, which is found in no other eastern European language, and the fact that is believed to have three degrees of phoneme length: short, long and "overlong". It became one of the EU's official languages in 2004.
