Latvian-English-Latvian translation services

We offer translations from Latvian to English and from English to Latvian.

We will also edit a translation after completion, on request. This may be necessary where the translation is aimed at a wider readership - as in the case of manuals or press releases, for example. We will edit the translation so that it reads as smoothly as possible without changing the content.

Latvian

Sometimes known as Lettish, Latvian is the official language of Latvia and has approximately 1.5 million native speakers in Latvia, the Abrene region of Russia and elsewhere. One of the few surviving members of the Baltic branch of the Indo-European family, it has three main dialects: Livonian, Latgalian and the Middle dialect. It is written in a modified version of the Latin alphabet and gained official status within the EU in 2004.
